Activities

What you can do around the cottage

Whatever the season, you can enjoy a wide variety of activities in this part of the Pyrenees: cycling, skiing, hiking, paragliding, rafting, climbing, golf, tennis and many more.

There are excellent walking possibilities for all levels, beautiful walks can be taken directly from the cottage. Our property is bordered by the Canal de la Nère, we have a gate that opens onto the path that runs along the canal. It is a wonderful walk where the canal winds through meadows, fields and forests, it would also be ideal if you feel like going for a jog in the morning.

The GR86 hiking trail (from Aurignac to Bagnères-de-Luchon, 157 km) passes through Le Cuing, a village located 2.5 km from the cottage.

Gouffre d'Enfer at an altitude of 1375 meters, in the Lys Valley in Bagnères-de-Luchon, Haute-Garonne.

This fairly short hike, in the form of a loop from the Lys Valley to the Prairie d'Artigues, will introduce you to two relatively well-known natural curiosities of this region of the Pyrenees, the Gouffre and the Cascade d'Enfer.

One hour from here is Bagnères-de-Luchon, which the locals call the Queen of the Pyrenees! It is a spa town well known for centuries, famous for its thermal springs, first discovered by the Romans, and its elegant mansions. It has its own ski resort, Superbagnères, which in winter is linked to the town by a cable car, but it is worth getting there outside of ski season to enjoy the fantastic views from the summit and the hikes that start from there. The road to Superbagnères is also a nice climb by bike.

If you like water sports, you can go canoeing, rafting and kayaking on the Garonne.

If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, why not play a round of golf, we have two golf courses nearby:

The Golf du Comminges is a 9-hole public golf course, which is part of the leisure center around Lake Montréjeau, our nearest town. This is a course for players of all ages and levels, with a putting green and a clubhouse. It is located on the shores of Lake Montréjeau and also borders the Garonne with, as a backdrop, a fantastic view of the mountains.

The Lannemezan Golf is a 18-hole public golf course, established since 1962, in Lannemezan, about ten kilometers away. It is recognized as the best course in Midi Pyrenees and is located in a 40 hectare park, with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, the fairways lined with mature trees, making it an ideal course for the most advanced players. There is also a restaurant, bar and shop on site.
